Customizing Note Templates

Customize how the SOAP notes you record are formatted

You can access these options in the Settings of the Talkatoo Portal
On a desktop browser, Click and then My Templates, on the left.

On a mobile browser, Click the profile icon , and then User Settings

You can now specify exactly how you want your recorded SOAP* notes to be created including:

Note:  Changing these settings only applies to notes submitted after these changes are saved.

You can submit a draft that was previously recorded, and it will use the new settings.  If you have already submitted a note, it will apply the current settings.

* Currently the SOAP note is the only available template type, but we're working on bringing you more template options, so stay tuned.

Displaying Sections

For the Subjective, Assessment and Plan sections, you can now decide whether you want to display it all simply by toggling the switch on the right.

Formatting Sections

For these same 3 sections, you can also independently decide how to format each one, using the 3 buttons at the top. In other words, you can have Subjective be a numbered list, Assessment be point form, and Plan be a paragraph.

In order, these are paragraph, point form, and numbered list.

The Objective section

You have a lot of options for the Objective section now, including bolding all of the labels so they stand out from the text.

Hiding a section

You can choose to hide the entire Objective section, or any of the items by toggling the switch on the right side.

Changing the order

You can re-arrange the order of each item by clicking and dragging the handle up and down the list.

Rename

If you prefer a different title, you can rename the item simply by clicking in the box and changing it.

It is important to note that this is only changing how it appears in the output.  Changing the name does not change the functionality of the section.

Note that it will still display the original title in the top left for reference.

Defaults

You can set a Global Default at the top, what you want the normal one to be

And then change any specific item's default, which will override the global default.

You can revert to the global default by pressing the button on the right.

Note how the global default appears grey while an item specific default is black.

Save your Changes

Once you have made all of your changes to the template, ensure you scroll back up to the top and click Save Changes.  If you don't, the changes you've made will be lost and any notes submitted afterwards will not have the desired changes.

This feature is scheduled to be released the week of June 24th.  During the transition, when viewing previously submitted notes on mobile or the desktop app, you may notice some strange characters such as asterisks (*) or the pound sign (#).  This means that the version of the Talkatoo app has note been updated to handle the new formatting options.

On desktop, click the 3 dots/Menu, then Support and check for updates.  On mobile, check your App Store/Google Play store for an updated version.

If it says none are available, wait a few hours or a day, and try again.

Since this is a new feature, if you see anything wrong, or not working as expected, please let us know by emailing us at support@talkatoo.com
