How to get log files when requested by support

If you are working with our support team and they've asked for the logs, here are the steps to collect them.

Windows
Mac
Mobile App

 

Windows

The log files are located at C:\Users\[username]\AppData\Roaming\Talkatoo\logs, however this is usually a hidden folder, so here is an easy way to get to it.

  1. Copy the following (including the % signs):  
    %appdata%\talkatoo\logs
  2. Click Start, or click in the search bar on the bottom left
  3. Paste what you just copied above either using CTRL+V or Right Click > Paste
  4. Press Enter

Once here, there will be up to 4 log files.  You can drag or copy these files into an email, or as otherwise instructed by our support team.

 


In addition to the OS specific methods, there is one way to access the logs' location that works on both Mac and Windows.

  1. Click the 3 dots on Talkatoo
  2. Click Support.
  3. Click the icon in the lower right and it will open the folder with the logs.



 

Mac

The log files are located at ~\Library\logs\Talkatoo but Library is usually a hidden folder on Mac, so there is an easy way to get to it.

  1. Open Finder
  2. Click Go (at the top)
  3. Press and hold Option on your keyboard
  4. Click the newly displayed Library entry
  5. Open Logs folder
  6. Open Talkatoo folder

Once here, there will be up to 4 log files.  You can drag or copy these files into an email, or as otherwise instructed by our support team.
 

Mobile App


  1. Click the profile icon on the top right In the Talkatoo Mobile App
  2. Click Report a Bug
    1. On Android, you will need to select your email at the bottom. On iOS devices it will open the email automatically. 
  3. Once the email has opened, please put a brief description of the issue and then send it.
    Note that the ability to send email is required to submit logs.
