How to get log files when requested by support

If you are working with our support team and they've asked for the logs, here are the steps to collect them.

The simple way to find the location of the Talkatoo log files:

  1. Click the 3 dots on the Talkatoo Dictation bar
  2. Click Support.
  3. Click the icon in the lower right and it will open the folder with the logs.

  4. There will be up to 4 files here, attach all of them to the email you were provided by support.  If none was given, send them to bugs@talkatoo.com with a brief description of the issue - if we don't know what the problem you're reporting is, it only delays being able to troubleshoot.
If for some reason you need to manually navigate to the location, it is a hidden folder by default on both Windows and Mac:
Windows: C:\Users\[username]\AppData\Roaming\Talkatoo\logs

Mac: ~\Library\logs\Talkatoo

 

 

Mobile App

  1. Click the profile icon on the top right In the Talkatoo Mobile App
  2. Click Report a Bug
    1. On Android, you will need to select your email at the bottom. On iOS devices it should open the email automatically. 
  3. Once the email has opened, please put a brief description of the issue and then send it.
    Note that the ability to send email on your device is required to submit logs.
